Endgame Content
- Destiny 2 offers a wide range of endgame content, ranging from heroic versions of Lost Sectors, Grandmaster Nightfalls, Trials of Osiris, Dungeons and Raids!
- Higher-difficulty content typically requires stronger gear, optimized builds, specific weapon and armour mods, and pre-formed fireteams as most activity content at this level is not matchmaking-enabled.
- This page will go over some of the Destiny 2 endgame content that you may encounter that is currently accessible in the game.

Legend & Master Lost Sectors
Quick Information
What are Lost Sectors?
- Every planet features a number of mini-arenas called Lost Sectors that feature a horde of enemies, a boss, and a treasure cache.
- Defeating the boss unlocks the treasure cache which can reward glimmer and legendary loot!
What are Legend & Master Lost Sectors?
- A variety of locations can feature Legend and Master Lost Sectors that increase the enemy’s difficulty and add modifiers.
- These types of Lost Sectors reward Enhancement Cores, Gunsmith Engrams, World Drops and additional rewards.
- There will be one Legend and one Master Lost Sector featured at a given time, and they change daily.
- You’ll see a blue Lost Sector symbol on the Destination!
- If you get a Platinum Score, you’ll get the most rewards!
- Currently, the following locations have these higher difficulty variants:
- European Dead Zone (EDZ)
- Cosmodrome
- The Moon (Luna)
- The Dreaming City
- Europa
- Savathûn’s Throne World
- Neomuna
- If Legend and Master Lost Sectors are done solo, they grant a chance to drop exclusive exotic gear!
- NOTE: If you haven’t yet unlocked that Lost Sector, the Legend/Master Lost Sector will not be displayed.
How will I know what is being offered for the day?
- You’ll need to locate the Legend/Master Lost Sector by visiting the Director; a blue Lost Sector symbol will be displayed beside the Destination Name.
- Hover over that symbol to see what the Lost Sector is, what modifiers and what armour piece is dropping from that Lost Sector.
- When you’re at the Lost Sector activity in the destination, you’ll also be able to see this information!
- Alternatively, you can use Third-Party Apps, such as Braytech, D2 Checklist or Kyber’s Discord Bot for daily notifications.
Exclusive Exotic Armour
- With a launch of a new season in Destiny 2, there are typically exotic armour items that are added to the Legend/Master Lost Sector Loot Pool.
- To acquire them, you will need to successfully complete a Legend or Master Lost Sector while solo.
- These are random drops, and exotic drops are weighted toward items that you haven’t yet acquired.
- Once you’ve acquired all exotic armour, you can continue to grind Legend of Master Lost Sectors while solo for a chance of additional drops of any exotic armour dropping that day.
- Most Guardians will grind exotic armour for higher stat-rolled armour pieces to perfect their build.

What are Nightfalls?
- Nightfall Strikes are strike variants that can feature a number of modifiers, Champions, and additional rewards depending on the level of difficulty you wish to play.
- Complete multiple Nightfall Strikes to earn a Powerful Reward. Higher difficulty earns faster progress toward your Weekly Challenge.
- Completing a Nightfall with a score of over 100,000 points will reward you a Pinnacle Reward!
- Nightfall Strikes have a chance to drop Exclusive Weapons. Each week, a specific Nightfall weapon will be available.
- Strike-Specific weapons can also drop in Nightfall strikes!
- Some original strikes still provide Exclusive Cosmetics such as Sparrows and Ghosts.
Activity Streaks & Reputation Bonuses
Activity Streaks and Reputation Bonuses
Activity Streaks provide additional rewards and reputation gains. Here is a quick overview:
- The longer you stay in Vanguard activities (playlists or direct launch), the larger your streak bonus is.
- Guardians can leave the matchmaking queue to snag bounties from Social Spaces (Tower/H.E.L.M.) without the worry of losing their activity streaks.
- Quitting activities or going AFK for extended periods of time will invalidate your streak, so be ready to play if you’re looking to keep yours going.
As with Crucible and Gambit, Zavala will be looking to host weeklong reputation bonuses throughout a given Season. Stay tuned for in-game announcements.
What are Nightfall Adept Ciphers and how to I acquire them?
- Starting in Season 20, when completing Grandmaster Nightfalls, in addition to previously existing rewards, players will also acquire Adept Nightfall Ciphers.
- The number of Ciphers that players earn depends on whether players qualify for Platinum, Gold, or Silver rewards at the end of the Nightfall.
- Number of Ciphers awarded per GM Nightfall completion score:
- Platinum = 2
- Gold = 1
- Silver = 0
- Zavala will offer a single Adept Nightfall weapon for focusing each week, matching the Nightfall weapon currently in rotation.
- Adept Nightfall weapons available for focusing in Season 20:
- The Militia’s Birthright (Adept)
- Mindbender’s Ambition (AAdept)
- Wendigo GL-3 (Adept)

Overview
Grandmaster Nightfalls: Overview
- Grandmaster Nightfalls are the highest difficulty of strike content currently available in Destiny 2
- In the Grandmaster variant, enemies are naturally much higher power than what Guardians can acquire in a given Season.
- More so, you will be met with a series of negative modifiers, locked equipment, limited revives, and if your team dies – you are sent back to orbit.
- Grandmaster Nightfalls can drop Adept versions of the Exclusive Weapons. Adept weapons have unique shaders, mods, and additional perks.

Adept Nightfall-Specific Loot
Adept Nightfall-Specific Loot
- Each week, an exclusive weapon can drop from completing Nightfall Activities. You can view the weekly rotation on our Vanguard Ops section of the Destiny 2 Dashboard.
- With Grandmaster Nightfalls, Adept versions of these exclusive weapons can drop in addition to regular drops. These adept versions can feature unique shaders, mods, and additional perks.
- Effective in Season 20, players will be able to earn Adept Nightfall Ciphers that will allow adept weapon focusing. To learn more, click here.
Conqueror Seal
Unlocking the Conqueror Seal
- Guardians are able to unlock Seals by completing specific triumphs outlined within the Seal.
- When a Seal has been claimed and applied, a purple title will be displayed under your name and will be visible in your character menu. Bragging rights for completing that objective, one could say!
- For Strikes, Guardians can unlock the Conqueror Seal by completing the following base objectives:
- Lightbearer: Earn a high score of 150,000 or more in Nightfall Strikes.
- Breaker of Champions: Defeat 100 Champions.
- Conqueror’s Discipline: Complete a Grandmaster Nightfall Strike with each subclass (Arc, Solar, Void and Stasis)
- Total Conquest: Complete 6 different Grandmaster Strikes.
Gilded Seals
- Once you have obtained the Conqueror Seal, additional seasonal objectives will be available to complete.
- Completing the seasonal triumphs outlined in the Conqueror Seal, you will “gild” your seal, and your title will display a number, which shows how many times you’ve added to your Conqueror Seal.

What are Raids?
- Raids are 6-player high difficulty arenas that have multiple challenging encounters for players to learn and overcome
- Because of the complexity of raid encounters, matchmaking is disabled.
- Complete Raid Encounters to unlock new armour, weapons, and cosmetic items (shaders, emblems, ships & sparrows)
- NOTE: Some Raids require related Expansions.
What are Dungeons?
- Dungeons are three-player, higher difficulty arenas (mini-raids) that utilize a series of mechanics and jumping puzzles for players to figure out and overcome
- Because of the level of complexity that a dungeon can offer, matchmaking is disabled
- Completing Dungeon Encounters rewards unique weapons and/or armour
- NOTE: Some Dungeons require related Expansions.
How do Master Raids & Dungeons work? (as of Lightfall)
- As of Lightfall, Master Raids & Dungeons will have the following modifiers:
- One Overcharged weapon (an Overcharged weapon will deal +25% more damage)
- Two Surges (Using a Surging Element will grant +25% more damage; if you have the matching subclass equipped, your Kinetic weapons also do +25% more damage)
- No Threat Modifier (Threats increase enemy output damage by +25%, which you don’t have to worry about in these activities!)
- In addition, to ensure it’s a fair fight:
- Combatants in these activities will not have increased health or stagger resistance.
- Enemy Health Pools have been fined-tuned so that if ignore elemental buildcrafting, you’ll experience day-one raid-like combat difficulty.
How can I form a fireteam for these activities?
- There is a variety of LFG (looking for group) services available for Destiny 2 that you can utilize!

- Destiny Tracker > Destiny 2 LFG Raid Finder
- There are many more, but these are the top LFG services!
- In Destiny 2: Lightfall, there will be an in-game LFG system.
What are Seals and how do I earn them?
- Guardians are able to unlock Seals by completing specific objectives outlined in that seal
- When a Seal has been claimed and applied, a purple title will be displayed under your name and will be visible in your character menu.
- Bragging rights for completing that objective, one could say!
- Most Dungeons and Raids offer a seal that you can complete and equip to show off how you mastered that endgame content!
