Tribute

A variation of Supremacy, where players drop crests upon death.
Players will be able to deposit Crests at tribute stations to earn points for their team.
Banking many Crests at once can trigger a Hunt phase, which activates a special tribute station and increases the value of all Crests deposited for one minute of gloriously chaotic gameplay.
Other Guardians won’t be the only things guarding these high-value tribute stations: Caiatl will be intervene!

Fortress

Game Objective: In Iron Banner: Fortress, the core gameplay is to score more points than your opponent by capturing and defending zones; the hunt will activate twice per match.
General Game Mechanics:
- Capture zones like you would in regular Control. Gain 2 points for each zone your team controls at each time interval.
- When your team controls 2 zones, your team will have zone advantage which will grant you 4 points at each time interval.
- When your team controls all 3 zones, your team will have a power play. Your team will gain 6 points at each time interval.
- When the hunt is active, Empress Caiatl will send a high-value zone via Drop pod.
  - This zone is quick to capture and awards a large number of points over a shorter period of time.

Control

Game Objective: In Iron Banner: Control, the core gameplay is to capture zones and eliminate combatants.
General Game Mechanics:
- Capture zones like you would in regular Control. Gain 2 points for each zone your team controls at each time interval.
- When your team controls 2 zones, your team will have zone advantage which will grant you 2 points per kill.
- When your team controls 3 zones, the hunt begins, which means zones are locked down for a short duration and all kills are 3 points each during this time.

Eruption

Game Objective: In Iron Banner: Eruption, players are tasked with earning kill streaks, with each new elimination providing significant power-ups as a match goes on.
General Game Mechanics:
- One kill earns you one point, but two kills in a row will apply the “Surging” buff to your Guardian.
- With this effect active, players will begin to glow and each new kill in their streak will generate 10% Super energy and 20% grenade, melee, and class energy.
- They’ll also earn three points per elimination, and on the fifth kill, will become “Primed.”
- Once Primed, everyone on your team will gain 5% Super and 10% grenade, melee, and class energy, while you’ll gain 12% Super and 5% grenade, melee, and class energy per kill, and three points per kill.
- The catch here is that you’ll have a 15-second timer applied which will cause you to “erupt” once it reaches zero, resetting your streak and ending the perks for your teammates…and also killing you.
Notes:
- When primed, you’ll be visible to the opposing team on the map and they’ll gain three points each time they eliminate you.
- Your own team can also see you wherever you are on the map, and more than one player can be Primed at a time.

What’s New This Season

One new Aggressive Strand Auto Rifle and one reprisal weapon (Riiswalker).
Due to the longer season, there will be 5 Iron Banner Weeks throughout Season 23.
This season’s game rotation is pending, with the first IB on December 5.
A new game mode, “Tribute” will be launched with the first IB of the season!
A new banner emblem, “Tributary” is available.
As of March 5, 2024, the following weapons have been added/reprised:
- Multimach CCX (Reprisal) (a classic PvP submachine gun)
- Tusk of the Boar (New) (a new Strand breech-loaded Grenade Launcher)

Activities this Year

Season 23: Season of the Wish

Warlord’s Ruin, a new dungeon, launched December 1, 2023.
Citadel, an old PvP Map, has returned!
IMPORTANT: This season is longer than a standard season, lasting for approximately 188 days:
- Traditional Seasonal Content will occur from November 28, 2023 through February 2024.
- There will be 5 Iron Banner weeks spread out throughout the season. The first began December 5, 2023.
- The Dawning arrived December 12, 2023.
- Progressive Quests called “Wishes” launched shortly after the main seasonal content concludes.
  - Moments of Triumph occurred during this time.
- Guardian Games arrived March 2024 and will have a refreshed focus on class vs class competition.
- An update, Destiny 2: Into the Light, arrived in April 2024 which prepares Guardians for their journey into the Traveler.
  - Available as of April 9, 2024, this free update includes a substantial amount of updates!
  - Defend the city with Onslaught, a new 3 player horde mode activity where you have to defend the ADU against waves of enemies.
  - Obtain weapons from the BRAVE Arsenal, reprised fan favourite weapons from D1 and D2.
  - Visit the Hall of Champions and assist Shaxx and Arcite with building up our arsenal.
  - The Whisper and Zero Hour have returned with an updated sandbox; Whisper of the Worm and Outbreak Perfected can now be crafted, and there are new versions of the original exotic ships to obtain!
  - Fight your way through the Raid Pantheon to be rewarded with raid weapons and exotics!
- A Crucible Map Pack consisting of 3 new maps will launch May 2024.
  - This map pack contains one new map on Europa, one new map on Neomuna and one new map on a terraformed Pyramid Ship.
- The Final Shape launches June 4, 2024.

Quality of Life Updates

You can now access the Vault from Orbit!
All Sparrows will now have the option to keep its original speed to switch over to the Always on Time Sparrow Speed.
Lost Sector Rewards are being improved!
- Gunsmith Engrams will be introduced as a reward to all difficulties of Lost Sectors and select Foundry weapons will also drop from Legend and Master completions.
Ritual activities completion rewards will now include additional drops of ritual engrams (Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit).
- This influx of engrams will let players focus more often for gear from Seasons past and present.
Shards are being removed from the game once The Final Shape launches; for Season 23, Legendary Shard costs from various kiosks, such as Monument to Lost Lights, will be removed.
Crucible Playlists are being updated – now there will be a 3v3 Ranked (Competitive), 3v3 Unranked, 6v6 Unranked (Loose SBMM), and 6v6 Quickplay (CBMM)
Fireteam Finder is in beta with staggered limited releases while Bungie calibrates and perfects this new technology.
- Bungie will communicate these changes until its official launch in the new year.

Into the Light

With Into the Light, you can now change the appearance of your Guardians via the character screen!
Minor sandbox updates with this update.
The New Light quest can be skipped – allowing all Guardians to get right into the fight!
Guardians can change their names one more time!

Season 22: Season of the Witch

Alter of Summoning: Matchmade. Present offerings in the Witch Queen’s otherworldly prison to summon foes of increasing challenge, defeat them, and claim their power.
Savathûn’s Spire: Matchmade. Power the spire, defeat its custodians and gain access to the Altars of Summoning.

Quality of Life Updates

Stasis Aspects and Fragments moved to vendor system: Any character who has completed the Beyond Light campaign will be able to acquire all available Stasis Aspects and Fragments from Elsie Bray on Europa.
Cosmetic Favouriting: You can now pin up to 100 shaders, ornaments and emotes.
Transmats will now be unlocked: Like shaders before them, transmats will now be stored as unlocks on your account, rather than consumable items.
Wish-Ender pursuit improvements: This quest is now a real quest. All existing assets from the previous pursuit path, such as token items that would be stuck in your quest tab, have been removed.
Resources tab added to Collections: A Resources tab has been added via Collections, which shows you all of the currencies, upgrade materials, and engrams in the game, appropriately categorized, with information on how to acquire it, as well as what to do with it once you have it.
New Quest Tab Updates: The Quest Tab has had a quality of life improvement.

- Ascendant Shard: Up to 30 (from 10)
- Ascendant Alloy: Up to 30 (from 10)

Season 21: Season of the Deep

A distress signal has been sent by Deputy Commander Sloane, thought lost when Titan vanished during Season of Arrivals.
Return to Titan and learn more about the origins of the Veil, the Leviathan that lurks through Titan’s seas, and what Sloane has been up to all this time.

What's New This Season?

Titan returns! Venture back to Titan, one of Saturn’s moons, and assist Commander Sloane with reclaiming this lost territory.
- Complete the Salvage Cooperative activity on Titan!
- This season, you can go fishing! Fishing? That’s right!
The Ghosts of the Deep dungeon launched May 26, 2023, at 1 PM EST. Grab a fireteam and visit the depths of Titan.

Season 20: Season of Defiance

The Witness and its Fleet, alongside disgraced-now-disciple Calus, has arrived at our doorstep and the worry of a second collapse is nearing a reality

What's New This Season?

Our end begins! Fight alongside all of the allies you’ve met along the way and stop the Witness from wiping out humanity.
While the main battle takes place on Neomuna, our allies have rallied together to confront the conflict at humanity’s doorstep
Complete Defiant Battlegrounds to rescue prisoners from new Darkness Strongholds in the Cosmodrome and EDZ.
- This season, you’ll be working with Queen Mara Sov, Devrim Kay, Amanda Holliday and the Crow.
A signal has been detected in the Vex Network − work with Mithrax to figure out what it is in this weekly mission!
- The Vexcalibur Void Exotic Glaive awaits! Craft and unlock various catalysts to further improve your weapon!
