Welcome to MONOPOLY GO!
Welcome to theMonopoly GO! Channel of Shattered Vault – a one-stop hub for guides, tips, event info, and resources for Scopely’s hit mobile game.
Monopoly GO! brings the classic board game into a social mobile experience, where you roll dice to travel across many themed boards, build landmarks, and compete withfriends and rivals.
Launched in April 2023, the game has already amassed over 100 million downloads worldwide, blending the familiar Monopoly elements with new features like collectible sticker albums, daily events, and tournaments.
Monopoly GO! is constantly evolving with limited-time events and quarterly sticker albums that offer fresh content.
Players have a limited time during an album to collect Sticker Sets, earning thousands of free dice rolls and other rewards for completing sets.
At the same time, special crossover events keep things exciting – for example, a Fantastic Four-themed series of events was underway in early summer of 2025, bringing Marvel’s first family into Monopoly GO! for a few weeks.
Monopoly GO! is available as a free-to-play app on iOS (Apple) and Android devices.
To download the game, simply search for “Monopoly GO!” in the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or Google Play Store (Android) and install the official app published by Scopely.
Once installed, the game will prompt you to log in via Facebook or create a game account – it’s highly recommended to connect a Facebook account, which not only secures your progress across devices but even rewards you with free dice rolls for linking your profile!
You can also invite friends from your contacts for bonus rolls (more on that in the Tips section).
After launching the game and completing a quick tutorial, make sure to enable notifications (optional but helpful) so you don’t miss free gifts or event reminders.
The game is updated frequently, so allow it to download any additional data or updates when prompted. Once you’re in, you’re ready to start rolling!
Gameplay Basics
Once you’ve downloaded Monopoly Go! to your phone, let’s go over how to play the game!
Monopoly GO! is easy to pick up – just roll the dice and enjoy the ride around the board.
The early boards will introduce you to these mechanics gradually.
Your goals starting out should be to complete boards to raise your level, keep your shields up, and start collecting stickers (unlocks at level 15).
🎲 Roll the Dice
Tap the dice button to roll your dice and move your token around the board.
Each board is Monopoly-themed with properties, railroads, Chance/Community Chest, etc.
You start with a limited number of dice rolls (which regenerate over time), so use them wisely to advance.
💡Over time, you'll earn bonuses to your roll regeneration and amount of dice you receive for completing a board! You'll see this in your Net Worth page.
💰 Buying Properties
Buy and upgrade properties.
Every time you upgrade properties, you increase your net worth. As you increase your net worth, you’ll start unlocking new features, rewards, and bonuses.
Low on cash? You can earn more cash by completing events and collecting rent from other players that are on your map!
Owning all properties of a color set lets you build houses/hotels and increases rent you collect.
Completing color sets (a red hotel on all same colour properties) also unlocks a Color Wheel bonus for extra cash each time you land on those properties.
🌆 Building Landmarks
Each board has unique Landmark structures you can upgrade.
Upgrading all landmarks on your current board lets you “finish” that board and move on to the next city/map.
There are many boards with a variety of city and holiday themes (starting at New York!), so there’s a lot of progress to be made.
Upgrading landmarks increases your Net Worth, which is effectively your level/progression in the game.
🛡️ Shields
To protect your buildings from attacks (see below), you can obtain shields.
You may get shields from certain board spaces or rewards matching your shield symbol.
You can hold up to 3 shields at once – each shield will automatically block one incoming attack (Shutdown) on your landmarks.
Always try to keep your shields maxed at 3 for safety, and note that if you land on additional shield tiles while already at 3 shields, you’ll get a refund in dice rolls instead (the roll isn’t wasted).
Future net worth upgrades can increase your shield count up to 5!
🚂 Land on Railroads to challenge other players!
You’ll either have one of the following attack options when you land on a railroad space:
Shutdown an opponent by attacking their landmark.
If they have shields, they can block your attack. Don’t worry, you’ll still earn some cash and point progress.
If they don’t have shields, you’ll destroy their landmark, and you’ll earn cash and points!
Complete a Bank Heist to rob a player’s bank!
You’ll have to select tiles to match the icon:
Silver Coin: A slight amount of cash and some event progress.
Cash: A moderate amount of cash and event progress.
Diamond Ring: A large amount of cash, often bankrupting players, and great event progress.
Gold Bars: Only available when you have the Mega Heist event active. Rewards a substantial amount of cash and event progress.
For shutdowns, the game will choose your opponent, but you can opt to to attack a friend (some friendly competition) or a random player.
However, the game will choose your opponent for bank heists!
💡The Higher your dice multiplier, the more cash you receive!
💎 Participate in Tournaments, Events, and more!
Join tournaments, challenges, and special events to win extra prizes. These will unlock as you play more and increase your net worth!
At the top of your app, you’ll see a solo challenge. You can click on the event to see what you need to do to earn points. Earning points will unlock rewards like cash, dice, and sometimes cosmetic items!
On the right side of your app, you’ll see a tournament. Shutdowns and Bank Heists contribute progress for side events.
Partner & Flash Events will also be displayed on the right side of your app! You can click on these to learn more or interact with the event.
Partner Events are multi-day events that have you teaming up with other players to earn prizes.
Flash Events occur for a small duration that provide bonuses for specific actions.
🆓 Collect your Freebies!
Every day you open the app, you’ll unlock a daily treat.
Every day, you will have 3 quick win objectives to complete. These earn you rewards and progress toward the weekly reward!
To obtain the weekly reward, you’ll need to make sure you claim all rewards every day. You can only miss ~2 quick wins per week.
Join the Tycoon Club: This unlocks bonus dice and perks that help during events.
Access the Tycoon Club, a special page outside of the app that provides a daily reward wheel and a daily free gift, plus other discounted and unique cosmetic items that can be purchased with money or special currency.

🎴 Earn Stickers and complete your Album:
Collect and trade stickers to fill albums and unlock special rewards.
An album is a collection of stickers that you’ve earned. If you’re a regular gamer, an album is essentially a season in Monopoly Go.
Stickers can be earned by completing quick wins, claiming daily treats, and progressing through your events.
Every album will have sticker sets. Completing a sticker set will earn you additional rewards, such as dice, cash and tokens.
Duplicate stickers are converted into stars. You can exchange these stars to unlock vaults for dice and sticker packs.
Most duplicate stickers can be traded with other players, except for gold stickers.
When you complete an album, you’ll unlock a huge reward of dice and other goodies!
Every time you complete an album, you will unlock a prestige version of the album, allowing you to collect more stickers for the remainder of the album.
See our Sticker Albums section below for even more information!
Sticker Albums and Trading
By the time you reach Net Worth 15, you’ll unlock the Sticker Album feature.
Stickers are virtual collectible cards featuring characters, tokens, and scenes.
Collecting them is not just for fun – completing sticker sets and albums grants huge rewards, including tons of free dice rolls, cash, and exclusive bonuses.
Here’s what to know about albums:
Each quarterly album has a theme (e.g. Summer Escape, Bon Appétit, etc.) and contains a number of sets.
Each set has around 8–10 stickers, and finishing a set grants a set reward (usually free rolls or cash).
Finishing all sets in an album yields a big album completion reward (often tens of thousands of dice rolls in total).
You obtain sticker packs by playing the game (rewards from events, Chance cards, etc.) or by trading.
Duplicates are common, especially for lower-rarity stickers.
You can trade stickers with other players: the game allows swapping, and there are community forums/Discord channels specifically for coordinating trades with strangers to get the ones you need.
You cannot trade the rare gold stickers except during special events (see Golden Blitz in the Events Guide), but normal stickers can be freely traded.
Prestige Sets: Albums have special prestige sets or bonus sets that unlock after finishing the main sets, offering the same line of stickers plus additional sets for additional rewards.
These are for the completionists and usually not required for the base album completion reward.
Stickers add a collecting side-quest to Monopoly GO!.
It’s very rewarding to complete a set and see that “Completed!” banner – not to mention the free dice rolls it dumps into your account.
Always open your free sticker packs from events, trade politely (don’t ask for someone’s last copy of a rare sticker unless you’re offering something equivalent!), and leverage the community to finish your collection.
If you’re stuck on a gold sticker, keep an eye out for the Golden Blitz events (explained in the Events Guide) which temporarily allow limited trading of golds.

Gameplay Tips & Strategies
Whether you’re a casual player rolling a few times a day or a grinder saving up thousands of dice for events, these tips will help you play more effectively and get the most out of Monopoly GO!.
We’ve compiled the best advice from experienced players and recent guides, covering everything from dice management to long-term planning.
See the collapsed sections below to learn more!
1. Master Your Dice Management
Dice rolls are your most precious resource in Monopoly GO – every action depends on them. Managing your dice wisely can dramatically improve your progress:
Use Multipliers Strategically:
As you advance, you can roll with multipliers (2x, 5x, 10x, etc.) to move faster and earn rewards faster.
However, higher multipliers also consume your dice quicker, so don’t just blindly use the max multiplier every time.
A good rule of thumb: save high multipliers for times when it counts (for example, during an event where every roll gives event points, or when you’re about to land on a big reward).
If you’re just circling the board casually, a lower multiplier of 5x, 10x or 20x might be more efficient, depending on your current dice stockpile.
Learn Board Layouts:
The board layouts (property order) are fixed, so over time you’ll learn the distance between important spaces.
For instance, if you are a few spaces away from a Railroad (attack/heist) or a Community Chest, you might hold off on a big multiplier to try and land exactly there.
Savvy players know how many moves to chance it.
Plan your rolls – if you know hitting a certain tile will trigger an event or complete a set, aim for it by adjusting your roll counts.
Don’t Waste Rolls on Low Rewards:
Similarly, try not to waste dice on trivial moves when nothing beneficial is nearby.
If you have a small number of dice left, consider waiting until they regenerate to do a more impactful session.
For example, burning your last 5 rolls when you’re nowhere near a good spot might yield little; it could be better to pause and come back later with more rolls (and maybe a flash event active).
Collect Free Rolls Everywhere:
Always take advantage of free dice opportunities.
This includes the hourly regeneration (log in before it caps), the Daily Treats login rewards, Quick Wins tasks (daily mini-challenges that contribute to a weekly reward) which often include dice, event milestone rewards, and of course the free dice links the developers post (see the FAQ for details on those).
By stacking all these sources, free-to-play players can accumulate a sizable stash of rolls.
Timing is Everything:
If you know a big Tournament or Event is coming up, it can pay to save your dice in advance.
For instance, if a special event starts tomorrow, you might hold off using today’s rolls (aside from maintaining your cap) so that you can unleash a larger amount when event points are available.
Patience and planning can yield a higher score in competitive events.
2. Build Aggressively, Then Play Defensively
Monopoly GO has a concept of Net Worth/Level that gates features and content. You want to level up quickly at first, then protect your progress:
Rush Early Upgrades:
In the early game, build and upgrade properties as fast as you can.
Pushing your Net Worth up unlocks crucial features: Auto Roll at level 8, Stickers/Album at 15, Daily Treats at 25, etc.
Plus, a higher Net Worth might increase your passive dice regen rate.
Spend the Monopoly cash you earn to upgrade landmarks and finish boards quickly in the beginning – this will propel you to those unlock milestones faster.
Unlock and Use Shields:
As soon as shields become available, always try to have the maximum of 3.
After the initial rush, consider a more defensive playstyle: don’t finish upgrades immediately if you’re about to go offline. Why? Because once you place that final building, your shiny new landmark could be vulnerable to a Shutdown attack if you have no shield.
Some players intentionally hold off completing a board until they can do a bunch of upgrades at once (minimizing the window where a half-built landmark can be knocked down).
Invest to hit the unlocks, then later save up cash and do big upgrades in one go to avoid incremental progress being lost to attacks.
Spend Your Money Before Logging Off:
This is a classic tip – don’t leave a large pile of cash unspent, or else when you’re away someone might heist a chunk of it.
There’s no bank to protect your cash except spending it unless you have a significantly large cashflow!
Maintain Shield Coverage:
If you’re out of shields and you know you won’t play for a while, accept that your buildings might take hits.
You can’t protect from everything, but logging back in to find all landmarks intact is a great feeling!
If you’re at your shield cap, shield tiles instead refund your roll as mentioned.
3. Optimize Social Features (Friends = Free Rolls)
Monopoly GO! heavily incentivizes social play. Taking advantage of this can give you significant benefits!
Link to Facebook & Contacts:
As noted, connecting to Facebook yields free dice rolls instantly.
Additionally, inviting friends (or even contacts who join) can net you bonus rolls per new friend who installs the game.
Use your unique invite link to share with people – for each new player who joins via your link, you’ll get free dice and even some sticker packs.
Tip: If you have a second device, you can even invite “yourself” on a fresh account to snag those freebies – but nothing beats real friends actively playing, because…
Community Chest with Friends:
Recently overhauled, the Community Chest is a social feature where you choose 3 friends.
During the week, you and your friends will need to complete a series of objectives and earn points to fill up each chest’s 3 levels.
Completing all objectives and earning points by landing on Community Chest spaces grant improved chances at maximum awards, including a 6-Star Sticker Pack!
Every Wednesday at 5pm UTC, the Community Chests open and then reset!
Your friends stick with you the entire album, but if you have an inactive friend, you can remove them (there is a 30 minute cooldown before selecting a new friend, however).
Form or Join a Sticker Trading Group:
Since trading stickers is crucial for album completion, coordinate with friends or communities.
Many players create group chats on Facebook and Discord where they call out which duplicates they have and swap around.
Completing albums can yield huge dice rewards (30,000+ rolls for full album completion in some cases), so helping each other is mutually beneficial. I
If you don’t have friends who play, consider joining the official Monopoly GO Discord or Reddit/Facebook communities; the Discord in particular is very active and has channels for trading and finding partner event teammates.
Tip: When competing in the right-side tournaments, consider adding players if you are a lone wolf, and start growing your social list!
Partner Up for Events:
Some events (Partner Events) require you to team up with another player.
Having a reliable partner ready (ideally someone who can play at similar times) will make those events much easier and more fun.
We’ll cover Partner Events in detail in the Events Guide, but in general – communication is key in partner events.
When you team up with a partner in an event, you are locked in with them until the end of the event, so choose wisely.
Beware of Scams:
A quick caution on the social side – only trust official links and communities.
If someone private messages you promising “free dice generator” or asks for your account info, ignore them.
There have been opportunists providing malicious links claiming free rolls.
Stick to known sources (official Facebook/Twitter posts or reputable sites like those we list in Essential Links).
Within the game, trades and partner invites are generally safe, just use common sense when interacting outside the app.
When trading stickers, it’s recommended to focus on 1:1 trades. Some players may scam other players by asking 2:1 trade, and once you trade, they block you. There is an exchange option when you trade stickers, which guarantees a sticker exchange once the other player accepts and puts in their sticker. You can accept or deny their trade.
4. Time Your Play Sessions
While it might be tempting to play for hours on end, Monopoly GO actually rewards shorter, more frequent sessions rather than one long binge.
Short Sessions, More Often:
Because your dice regenerate over time, it’s optimal to check in, use your dice (or most of them), then step away and let things refresh.
The game does not give extra bonuses for being on continuously; in fact, as noted by one guide, “Monopoly GO does not reward long play, with better incentives for short stints”.
Save Dice for Events:
If an event or tournament is active that you care about, concentrate your play during that window.
Conversely, during downtime (no event or just minor ones), you might stockpile some dice or play minimally.
Planning around the event schedule is a hallmark of advanced players. (some hardcore players even set alarms for short flash events like Mega Heist hours.)
Use Auto Roll Carefully:
Auto Roll (unlocked at level 8) is convenient but can burn through dice rapidly.
If you do use it, consider setting a low roll count or keeping an eye on it.
Don’t set auto 500 rolls and walk away – you might come back to zero dice and several missed opportunities.
It’s best used when grinding through a large saved stash during an event, so that every auto-roll is contributing to points.
Know When to Stop:
It sounds counterintuitive in a game, but sometimes stopping is smart.
For instance, if you’re in first place in a Tournament and there’s an hour left, you might hold onto further rolls unless someone threatens your position.
No need to waste resources when you’re already winning.
Likewise, if a flash event (like Cash Boost or Rent Frenzy) is active, it could be worth playing; if not, maybe wait until one appears.
Monopoly GO frequently has these mini bonus periods throughout the day.
Moderation (Avoid Pay Temptations):
As a final point, remember that Monopoly GO is designed with monetization – you can buy dice, etc.
The good news is you truly don’t need to pay to enjoy the game, as long as you take advantage of all the free rolls and pace yourself.
As one writer put it, everything in moderation – you can absolutely have fun and progress well without spending real money. Set your own limits. The game gives plenty of free rolls if you’re patient.
5. Event Strategy – Play Smart, Not Just Hard
Events are where many players focus their strategic energies, because events offer some of the best rewards (and competition).
Understand the Event’s Goal:
Each event type has different objectives – some are about collecting tokens, some about completing boards or landmarks, some about heisting other players.
Always read the event rules (tap the event icon in-game for its info) before diving in.
If the event rewards points for, say, every Railroad landed on, then your strategy should be to maximize those.
If it’s a building event requiring tokens, you might need to save tokens and do big spins at once (common in partner events).
Use Resources During Events:
Generally, you want to spend your saved dice rolls during events for maximum benefit.
Also use boosters and multipliers when they’ll count the most.
For example, during a Roll Race event, using a 20x multiplier with a Lucky Rocket booster (ensuring high dice outcomes) can net you massive progress in one go.
During a Rent Frenzy, crank up the multiplier because every property landing yields double cash, which helps with building.
Tailor your use of dice, cash, and tokens to what will earn event points most efficiently.
Coordinate in Team Events:
For team-based events like Tycoon (Racer) Tournaments or Partner events, communication with teammates is vital. I
n a racer team event, coordinate use of team boosters (if one person has a Team Spring booster to give everyone a free high-multiplier roll, maybe everyone should be ready to roll right after it’s activated).
If you have an Overload booster to slow an enemy team, maybe use it when that team is about to overtake yours.
Partner events, of course, require both partners to play consistently – don’t wait until the last minute or your partner might not be online to help finish attractions. Plan a schedule together.
Aim for Milestones, But Be Realistic:
Events often have milestone rewards (e.g. reach X points for guaranteed prizes) and then competitive leaderboards for top players.
If you’re a free player, focus on hitting the milestones – those are achievable with good strategy and give you the goodies without needing to rank #1.
The leaderboard chase can become a dice-spending war. If you find yourself far behind the top ranks, it’s okay to settle for a lower tier reward rather than exhausting all resources. There will always be another event soon!
Take Advantage of Flash Events:
Keep an eye out for the short Flash Events that pop up daily.
These include things like Mega Heist (enhanced heist rewards for a short period), Cash Boost (double cash from actions for a few hours), Roll Match (perhaps something to do with matching dice), etc.
Flash events can stack with main events – for example, a Cash Boost flash event during a building tournament helps you earn more cash to build faster.
Logging in periodically to catch these windows can give you an extra edge without extra dice. Refer to the Monopoly Go Wiki site for upcoming flash events!
