MEMORIES: CONCLUSION TO THE LIGHT & DARK SAGA

“In Season of the Witch, Ikora Rey and Eris Morn, in their pursuit of the Witness, strike a perilous deal with the rogue Ghost Immaru to resurrect Savathûn, the Witch Queen. This daring move requires the Guardians to master Savathûn’s arcane magic and embrace the might of the Sword Logic. Eris Morn, transforming into a Hive God, becomes a pivotal figure, demanding tribute from the Guardians as they face unprecedented challenges.

The Guardians’ journey leads them to the Altars of Summoning and Savathûn’s Spire, where they must defeat formidable foes to claim their power. The season introduces a new progression system, the Deck of Whispers, enabling players to earn cards for rewards and enhancements. Guardian’s have once again have ventured into the Dark Below to confront Crota, the Hive Prince, in the Hellmouth on Earth’s moon. Throughout the season, Guardians also uncovered the Imbaru Engine, the Witch Queen’s elaborate puzzle.

Nearing a pivotal moment nearing a moment of an all out war with the God of War, Guardians witness Eris Morn’s audacious move, where she uses the power accumulated through six weeks of Tithing to overpower and slay a recently resurrected Savathûn. This pivotal act allows Eris to drain eons of Hive magic from Savathûn, significantly weakening the Hive God of War, Xivu Arath, and rendering her as vulnerable as any other Hive member. This turning point provides Guardians the opportunity to potentially eliminate Xivu Arath once and for all.

Once again resurrected and as a gesture of truce, Savathûn hands over Immaru to the Vanguard, indicating a shared enemy in the Witness and suggesting the need for her survival to succeed against this foe. Despite these developments, Savathûn makes an enigmatic exit, though still in communication with the Vanguard. The Guardians finally solved the Imbaru Engine, revealing Savathûn’s prized possessions: an Ahamkara egg, free of taken corruption. The Guardian also made a discovery of the final wish, Wish 15, presuming that we will need to make a wish with an Ahamkara to open the portal that the Witness entered.

Outside of the hive conflict, Guardians participated in the annual Festival of the Lost event, hunting down pumpkin-head monsters in Haunted Sectors, seeking loot and a brand new all-black memento shader. Outside of the Destiny universe, Bungie was impacted by a mass layoff; we’d like to take a moment and thank everyone who has made the game what it is – the game wouldn’t be what it is today without the amazing developers and workers at Bungie.
