The Pale Heart Holds the Key
- The Witness made a connection to the Veil during the events of Lightfall, and was able to pierce open the Traveler and enter it.
- Since then, the Vanguard and their allies worked on finding a solution to safely enter, and with the help of Riven and Queen Mara Sov, they were able to find a way inside.
- This destination is available as of Destiny 2: The Final Shape, which arrived on June 04, 2024!

What is the Pale Heart? Where is it located?
- This destination puts Guardian deep inside the Traveler.
- The Traveler blends nostalgic locations such as the Cosmodrome, Felwinter Peak, and Europa while twisting it with fractured chasms, showing the Witness’s influence inside the Traveler.
What are the Dread?
- The Dread are a creation of the Witness, a powerful entity seeking to enact its “final shape.”
- The Dread are not simply mindless soldiers, but rather a diverse group of beings reshaped from various sources, including conquered species, into a powerful army serving the Witness’s will.
- The Dread are not a homogenous force, but rather comprise various units with distinct roles and abilities. Some examples include:
- Grim: Flying units that inflict a “Tinnitus” debuff on those who get too close, causing distortion and confusion.
- Husks: Melee-focused enemies that wield blades and rush players.
- When they die, a flying husk will attempt to attack its destroyer.
- Attendants: Psion-like units that wield Stasis and Strand abilities, slowing players and creating Stasis fields.
- Subjugators: Elite-level enemies that command Stasis and Strand powers, often based on the design of Rhulk, a raid boss from Vow of the Disciple.
- Tormentors: Powerful units that suppress players with Void abilities.
What can we expect from The Final Shape expansion? What is Prismatic?
- The storyline builds on decade-spanning lore, culminating in the final battle between the light and dark, the Traveler and the Witness.
- Guardians face a brand new enemy faction, The Dread.
- The Vanguard run into a long lost ally and friend.
- Guardians get to unlock and wield Prismatic, a brand new subclass that blends light and dark together.
Campaign: Normal vs Legendary Mode
- Like prior expansions, The Final Shape features two different experiences for the campaign:
- Normal Mode: Your traditional campaign mode. Expect your usual mission combat.
- Legendary Mode: The Power Level between you and your enemies are scaled, and there are limited revives and modifiers to make this a challenging experience.
- Earn additional rewards, XP and bonus rewards after completing the campaign.
- Difficulty is also adjusted based on fireteam size.
- You’ll receive a 1960 Power Level armour set and an exotic reward of one of the new exotics released in the expansion once you complete the campaign.
Vendor: Ghost
- Throughout the campaign, Ghost will guide you with quest steps and dialogue.
- When you complete the campaign, you’ll gain access to the full reputation tray and rewards screen.
- Like other vendors, complete activities and unlock chests to earn reputation.
Missions & Exotic Quests
Dual Destiny
Exotic Mission
What is it?
- This exotic quest requires two players and unlocks an exotic class item for your respective class.
- These exotic items have randomly rolled exotic perks taken from other exotic items.
- Once you complete this quest, you can repeat the activity for additional rolls, or have a small chance to have the exotic class item drop from World Chests around the Pale Heart.
How to Unlock Quest
- To unlock the Dual Destiny exotic quest in Destiny 2, you must first complete the Overthrow public event in all three zones (The Landing, The Blooming, and The Impasse), and then defeat the “Secret-Keeper” Hive Lightbearer Wizards in each area.

Wild Card
Exotic Quest
What is it?
- The Wild Card quest is an exotic quest that rewards the Still Hunt sniper rifle.
- You’ll need to investigate the source of Dark Ether corruption with Cayde and Crow.
- Expect to track down targets, collect dark ether, and confronting the source of dark ether.
How to Unlock Quest
- Complete the main The Final Shape campaign and then complete the subquest, “Queens, Part 1.”
- Once the above is complete, Cayde-6 will provide the quest to you.

Destination Activity: Overthrow
- Overthrow is a Public Event activity exclusive to the Pale Heart.
- The objective is to progress through three tiers by earning points, ultimately triggering a final boss fight.
How to Accumulate Points
- You need to earn 1,000 points per tier by killing enemies, completing mini-events, and opening Corrupted Chests.
- Regular enemy kills give 1 point each, high-value targets give more, and mini-events can provide up to 450 points each.
- Once you reach 3,000 points, a final boss will spawn.
- The boss is random and varies based on the area in The Pale Heart where the activity is taking place (The Landing, The Blooming, or The Impasse).
Rewards
- Completing Overthrow grants various rewards, including Pale Heart destination weapons, Traveler’s Blessing mods, Luminescent Seeds, Glimmer, and Legendary Engrams.
- Exotic class items might also drop as a random reward from completing these events.
- Playing in a Fireteam is recommended for efficiency, but the activity can be completed solo.

Raid: Salvation's Edge
- Salvation’s Edge is the climactic raid set within the Pale Heart of the Traveler where Guardians face the ultimate challenge against the Witness and its formidable forces.
Note: Raids are endgame activities. Use communication and of course – be patient!
Encounters: General Information & Mechanics
- There are 5 main encounters during this raid.
- Click on the collapsed sections below to learn more about each encounter!
- For more details, please refer to the raid guide videos provided in this section.
Substratum
- Objective: Fight through a maze to collect and bank Resonance to unlock the rest of The Witness’ Monolith.
- Setup: Split into three teams of two, covering left, middle, and right sections.
- Mechanics: Defeat enemies to spawn Attendants and minibosses.
- The first team to defeat their miniboss triggers a phase where three players can damage the boss.
- Damage Phase: Destroy blights to make the boss vulnerable, then focus on dealing head damage.
- Final Phase: Use the Stolen Favour buff to lock shapes in the Conductor and repeat the process until the boss is defeated.
Dissipation - Herald of Finality
- Objective: Fight the Herald of Finality — a Disciple version of Taniks.
- Setup: Divide into three teams of two to cover each section.
- Mechanics: Similar to the first encounter but introduces Spherical Resonance.
- Random players will receive a Call to Reckoning to damage the Herald.
- Final Stand: Destroy surrounding blights, call out shapes, and coordinate energy transfers to complete the encounter.
Repository
- Objective: Race through three rooms that grow in complexity, dunking Resonance along the way.
- Setup: Teams must navigate through three rooms, each with unique layouts and mechanics.
- Mechanics: Kill Tormentors to unlock plates, generate Resonance shapes, and lock Conductors.
- Repeat the process across all rooms.
- Final Room: Deposit Resonance, clear enemies, and defeat the final Unstoppable Incendior to proceed.
Verity
- Verity: Free your fellow Guardians from the shadow realm by doing a lot of math.
- Setup: This encounter is a complex puzzle which involves the freeing of solo Guardians.
- Mechanics: Match 2D and 3D shapes using callouts.
- Inside rooms have three statues to match shapes, while outside rooms involve coordinating with separated players.
- Challenges: Ensure correct shape combinations and manage the “Imminent End” countdown to avoid failure.
The Witness
- Objective: Defeat The Witness and its hands to make it vulnerable ahead of the final mission.
- Setup: Gain the Glyphbreaker buff by destroying specific hands in the arena.
- Mechanics: Target buttons on the Witness to reveal its weak spot.
- Repeat this process while managing hand attacks.
- Final Stand: Coordinate damage output with debuffs and buffs to defeat the Witness within the time limit.

Raid Loot
Collective Purpose
Gain bonus range and handling when near allies. Bows receive faster draw time and Swords receive faster charge rate. The effect scales with the number of nearby allies.
Found on any Salvation’s Edge raid weapon.
Seal: Iconoclast
- Players can earn the Iconoclast Seal by completing various triumphs from the raid.
- Earning these triumphs will require a fireteam, and many triumphs require team coordination.
- Some of the triumphs offer additional rewards and improved chances of acquiring the raid exotic.
