MEMORIES: THE LIGHT & DARK SAGA

“As time was running out for Rasputin, the AI Warmind that’s been contained in an engram ever since the Black Fleet took it offline, the Hive God of War was moving to seize control of Rasputin’s network of weaponized satellites. Desperate, she and the recently recovered Osiris went to Europe to seek the assistance of Clovis Bray. Clovis Bray agreed to help, and a portion of his digital consciousness was sent back to the H.E.L.M. Ana’s sister, Elsie Bray (aka the Stranger), was not happy about this collaboration. 

From there, the Vanguard authorized special covert operations and heists to thwart Xivu Arath’s attempts at stealing advanced weaponry. With Operation: Seraph Shield, Guardians gained access to the Braytech Orbital Platform above the Last City to improve the efforts of restoring Rasputin. Guardians who completed this mission also earned Revision Zero, a strong Pulse Rifle with multiple customization features. 

Over the next couple of months, continued efforts were made to restore Rasputin while coming up with defensive options with the impending arrival of the Witness. Queen Mara Sov assisted with these efforts. When Rasputin did come back online, it was revealed that Clovis Bray was planning on sabotaging and controlling Rasputin, to upload his mind to Rasputin’s Network and become an all-powerful entity. When this was revealed, Ana and Elsie confronted Clovis Bray, resulting in Ana destroying the portion of Clovis Bray in the H.E.L.M. Clovis was then locked out of any remaining protocols by Rasputin, essentially containing him to the Europan Braytech Facility.

Mara Sov discovered that the Warmind Network being used would only work in Xivu Arath’s best interest, empowering her forces to open the ascendant plane above Earth, as she did on Torobatl, the Cabal homeworld. This led to a shift in plans − allow Rasputin to prevent Xivu Arath from claiming the network, but refrain from using the Warmind Network himself.

Things got complicated when Eramis infiltrated the Seraph Station and began to utilize the Warsats, planning to destroy the Traveler. As things escalated, the Traveler moved itself into orbit above Earth. Working with Rasputin one last time, Guardians input Rasputin’s code into the Seraph Station to initiate a self-destruct sequence, successfully destroying all the Warsats but in doing so, destroyed Rasputin. 

During the season, Guardians participated in the annual Moments of Triumph and celebrated the Dawning holiday event hosted by Eva Levante. Guardians collected Warmind nodes and destroyed communication beacons spread across the solar system. Some Guardians also rescued Archangel, the Seraph Robot Dog that was lost within the core area of the Seraph Station. The Spire of the Watcher dungeon was made available to Guardians to prevent the Sol Divisive Vex from gaining control of a Warmind facility.
