Phase 1: Unlocking the Mission

• To open the map node for “Oblation: Bloodline”, you must complete a multi-step sequence spanning the Moon.
  • The Scarlet Keep Strike: Launch and play through the Scarlet Keep strike normally.
  • After defeating the final boss, Hashladûn, equip any Weapon of Sorrow (such as Thorn, Osteo Striga, or Necrochasm).
  • Look around the boss arena walls to find three hidden Hive runes that are only visible while holding a Weapon of Sorrow.
  • Shoot all three to open the massive gate behind the boss. Head inside, turn right, and interact with the Soulfire Crystal.
• Track the Cabal Corpses: Exit the strike and head to the Moon patrol space.
  • Your UI will display a “Soulfire Network Frequency” radar meter in the bottom-right corner.
  • Use this “hotter/colder” tracker to find glowing green Cabal corpses hidden across four major Hive sub-areas:
    • The Shrine of Oryx (Deep below Archer’s Line)
    • The Temple of Crota (Off Anchor of Light)
    • The Chamber of Night (Deep below the Hellmouth)
    • K1 Revelation Lost Sector (In Sorrow’s Harbor)
  • Solve the Door Locks: At each location, follow the trail of dead Cabal to a locked Hive door.
    • Clear out the local enemies, then shoot the symbols on the wall in the exact order they are shown to unlock the room and clear the internal crystals.
• Once all four locations are cleared, the Oblation: Bloodline mission node will permanently unlock on your Moon map.

Phase 2: Mission Walkthrough & Key Mechanics

• The mission itself features heavy mechanical puzzle-solving alongside intense combat encounters.
• Disable the Energy Drill:
  • At the start of the mission, drop down the ledges to the left of the large red tower to the lower platforms.
  • Defeat the Psion snipers and the shielded Centurion at the command console, then interact with the console to override the safety controls.
  • Destroy the three arc fuses above and behind the switch to force the hot vents on the nearby Cooling Pillars to open.
    • Hot vents are in the area down and ahead. The first area will have a single cooling pillar, and the second area has the two remaining cooling pillars. 
• Pathway to Final Boss:
  • Locate the launch cannon and make your way to the opening in the wall.
  • There are many pathways in this area. Make your way up this cavern until you make your way to the Soulfire barrier (big chasm with green hive energy).
  • Unseal the massive doorway leading directly into Valus Tau’Rig’s boss arena.
  • The Mechanic:
    • Kill the Vessel Knight and punch/interact with its corpse to receive the Soulfire Charge buff.  This buff functions on a countdown timer.
    • Quickly run and leap into any of the three large ceremonial bowls around the room to dunk the charge.
    • Dunking all three charges fully extinguishes the barrier, letting you walk straight into the boss arena.
• The Final Boss:
  • When Tau’Rig goes immune, eliminate the three Pyre Cantor Wizards that spawn.
  • Claim the Soulfire Charge they leave behind and dunk it into the active brazier where the boss is siphoning energy to drop his shield.
  • Repeat this across two phases to defeat him and claim your baseline Cull’s Shadow.

Phase 3: Unlocking Follow-Up Secret Missions”

• Oblation: Bloodline” is actually the first part of a larger trilogy of secret missions tied to the Exotic weapon.
• Unlock Oblation: Soulfed (Mission 2):
  • After defeating the Bloodline boss, head out toward the top-left area and interact with a book pedestal.
  • Return to the main boss room, shoot the wall symbols again, and a hidden path will open downward through the middle of the floor to unlock the next mission, Oblation: Soulfed.
  • Core Mechanic: In Soulfed, you must defeat Soulfire Vessel Knights to gather a buff, dunk it into a central brazier to generate Hive worms, and throw the worms at four glowing soulfire crystals hidden around the room to advance through the hazard chambers.
  • NOTE for future: Midway through the Soulfed mission (after dropping down a long shaft), look inside a side alcove for a second book pedestal and activate it.
• Unlock Oblation: Immolation (Mission 3):
  • Once you obtain the Cull’s Shadow Exotic, and complete Soulfed, look closely at its physical weapon model in hip-fire view to see a vertical alignment of Hive symbols.
  • Go to the backside ledge of the boss arena and shoot the six statues’ symbols in the exact top-to-bottom order displayed on your gun.
  • This solves the final puzzle, granting the Soulfire Zeal trait and unlocking the final mission node.
  • Final Boss Mechanic: Defeat the Wizards powering the soulfire jets to drop the initial shield of Ir Gohl.
    • When he retreats and triggers a wipe mechanic, run to the active outer braziers, grab a worm, and hurl it at the crystals flanking the central platform to trigger your damage phases.
