Pinnacle Ops Activities
Pinnacle Ops vs Exotic Mission Rotator
- Pinnacle Ops is a collection of exotic missions that can be completed via The Portal, first introduced in Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate.
- Guardians can choose from a selection of exotic missions and customize the modifiers to improve their overall score that impacts the type of rewards you’ll receive.
- The Exotic Mission Rotator is available through the Worlds Tab > Legends; this rotator features one exotic mission.
- This playlist enables Guardians to obtain Seasonal Exotic Mission weapons and their associated Catalysts, as well as legacy seasonal rewards.
- This page will go over both methods of playing exotic missions!

Quick Menu − What are you looking for?
Pinnacle Ops
- Pinnacle Ops is one of the four main activity nodes inside The Portal, and contains a selection of exotic missions.
- Unlike the Exotic Mission Rotator, players can select and play these exotic missions at any point!
- Use the Portal Scoring System and modifier customizations to improve your score and possible rewards!
What loot can be obtained?
- As of Destiny 2: Renegades, Exotic Missions will award its signature exotic weapon (e.g., Dead Man’s Tale, Dead Messenger, Revision Zero, Vexcalibur, Wish‑Keeper, etc.) along with that mission’s associated Deepsight pattern unlocks, intrinsic upgrades, and (on higher difficulty) catalyst progress.
- In the Portal era, your Reward Package scales by selected difficulty and modifiers, and longer activities like Exotic Missions include mid‑activity reward chests whose quality scales off Seasonal Power and Guardian Rank, giving additional shots at that mission’s loot pool.
- Pinnacle Ops activities can also drop the Bushido armor set with its 2‑ and 4‑piece bonuses, giving added incentive to farm these runs.
- In Destiny 2: Renegades, expect to see new armour sets available!
NEW: Dungeon Lairs
- Dungeon Lairs are dungeon encounters available through the Pinnacle Ops offering, and will be available to all players looking for a challenge.
- The encounters will be familiar, but have been updated to work with the Portal’s modifiers, scoring system, and Portal loot.
- The three Dungeon Lairs being added to Pinnacle Ops in the Portal are:
- Pit of Heresy: Beneath the Necropolis
- Duality: Nightmare of Gahlran
- Warlord’s Ruin: Hefnd’s Vengeance
- If you’d prefer to farm dungeon-specific loot to fill out your collection in the Portal, you can customize Dungeon Lair activities and toggle the new boon modifier, Classic Collector.
- This modifier will ensure that legacy dungeon rewards will drop in addition to Portal rewards.
- Please note, the legacy rewards will lack Seasonal Power and Gear tiers and are purely additive.
Vanguard Determination
After using your class ability, final blows with this weapon grant you bonus damage resistance.
Found on any weapons obtained in Fireteam Ops or Pinnacle Ops.

Exotic Mission Rotator
- The Exotic Mission Rotator is a new playlist introduced in Season 22.
- This playlist will feature a weekly Exotic Mission that will reward a craftable exotic weapon, a catalyst, and legacy seasonal gear.
- There is a normal and legendary difficulty per exotic mission.
Playlist Behaviour and Expectations
- Exotic weapons entering the playlist will become craftable.
- Each mission features a Normal and Legendary difficulty.
- Each mission features a pool of legacy Seasonal rewards (armour and craftable weapons) that have thematic overlap with their associated mission.
- Each mission features the same reward behaviour.
- Mission dialogue and narrative move forward after each activity completion and reset after all dialogue sets have been played.
- Legacy Triumphs cannot be progressed.
Exotic Missions
- Below is the list of Exotic missions and their associated rewards that are available starting in Season 22.
- In the Exotic Mission Rotator, these missions will rotate weekly and continue throughout the Lightfall year and beyond.
- Pinnacle Ops will have a select number of exotic missions available that will change or expand per content release!
DEREALIZE
General Overview
- Requires ownership of The Final Shape or Heresy.
- Exotic Reward: Barrow-Dyad
- Strand Exotic SMG.
Exotic Perks
- Panic Response: This weapon generates blight as it deals damage. While not firing, blight depletes, and the magazine is gradually refilled. Reload the weapon to convert stored blight into Blighted Seekers.
- Taken Divergence: This weapon resonates with your choices.
Synopsis
- THE DREADNAUGHT AWAITS.
- A crack in reality has opened on the Dreadnaught, inviting Guardians to step through a mirror of the existing world.
- Navigate a treacherous labyrinth of shifting platforms and arcane mechanisms, forcing you to step between two distinct realities to progress.

KELL'S FALL
General Overview
- Requires ownership of Lightfall or Season of the Wish.
- Exotic Reward: Slayer’s Fang
- Void Exotic Shotgun
Exotic Perks
- Nightsworn Sight: Dealing final blows to targets grants Nightsworn Sight. During that time, final blows grant Truesight, reload speed and precision damage is increased, and submunitions weaken targets.
- Heart Piercer: Rounds from this weapon shatter into submunitions on impact. Strong against Overload Champions.
Synopsis
- INTO THE MIRROR DIMENSION
- Venture back to the Tangled Shore to confront Fikrul and his scorn army within the Revenant Fortress.
- The mission includes hidden areas, puzzles, and secret boss fights that players can discover.

- Visit Io to investigate an anomaly – face the deep and uncover dark secrets within.
- This exotic mission is a reprisal from an earlier point in Destiny 2 with updates to the enemy density and secrets within.
- Visit Eris Morn on the Moon to get started, then launch “The Whisper” mission from the Into the Light menu in the Director when the mission is in rotation.

Exotic Mission Rotator Reward Structure
Weapon Crafting Rewards
- The first completion of the mission on Normal or Legendary difficulty will award an Exotic Deepsight weapon associated with the mission.
- Extracting or dismantling this Deepsight weapon will grant the pattern.
- Each completion of the Normal or Legendary version of the Exotic mission will award an intrinsic upgrade that can be used when crafting the Exotic weapon.
- Each completion of the Legendary version of the Exotic mission will award a Catalyst upgrade for the crafted Exotic weapon.
Armour & Weapon Rewards
- The Normal and Legendary versions of the missions have separate weekly reward lockouts.
- Weekly mission rewards (if weapons or armour are obtainable):
- One guaranteed Deepsight weapon that has not had its pattern unlocked and one armour piece that has not already been obtained (based on your current class).
- If all weapon patterns and armour have been obtained for the in-rotation mission, a random world drop will be awarded.
- On every completion, you will receive an additional weapon from the mission’s weapon pool.
- However, this weapon will have no knockout or guaranteed Deepsight behaviour (the weapon can roll with Deepsight, but this would be on a random percentage chance).
