What is Guardian Games?
Guardian Games is Destiny’s Spring Event that is Free For All Players. Here’s a quick breakdown of what you need to know:
- With Guardian Games, the main objective is to earn medallions from completing activities and Contender Cards!
- All medallions get deposited at the Tower Podium in the Tower Courtyard to earn points for your class’s team
- This years Guardian Games has introduced a brand new Arc Trace Rifle and a new game mode!

Objective
- 1 − Visit Eva Levante in the Tower to begin the Seasonal Quest. Choose your preferred class to work on during the event.
- 2 − Earn medallions by completing various activities and Contender Cards. Submit medallions at the Tower Podium in the Tower.
- 3 − Participate in the Guardian Games Rushdown, Guardian Games Supremacy Crucible Mode or Guardian Games Gambit mode to earn a high score and rewards.
- 4 − Each day, a winner − Titan, Warlock or Hunter − will be noted at the Tower.
- 5 − At the end of the event, the class that has the most wins during the event will be declared the winner.
- Until the next event, a statue will be in the tower showcasing the winning class’s victory.
Loot & Special Vanguard Orders
- Bounties have been replaced with the new Event Home experience, similar to Solstice, Festival of the Lost and the Dawning.
- Play Portal activities and bank medallions to earn Guardian Game exclusive weapons:
- Triple Laureate: Stasis spreadshot Hand Cannon
- The Beacon: Solar rapid fire Fusion Rifle
- Keraunios: Arc adaptive frame Trace Rifle (Reprisal)
- Don’t forget to pick up contender and platinum cards from Eva Levante in The Tower to earn more medallions, which means more weapons.
- Additionally, for this Guardian Games, Bungie has added new Rare quality Vanguard Orders focused on the event.
- These Rare Vanguard Orders will provide 50 Bright Dust per completion before the 1000 Bright Dust weekly threshold and 10 Bright Dust per completion thereafter.
- Players can only hold one at a time and, once completed, a Rare Vanguard Order will be replaced with another Rare Vanguard Order until the Guardian Games event ends.

Quests & Obtainable Items
Allstar Vector Skimmer
- Bungie introduced the new Allstar Vector Skimmer, which will be available to grab again this year.
- You’ll get a temporary version for the duration of the event, but completing Drop In quest will allow you to add a permanent one to your collection.
- Skimmers are essentially hoverboards with increased control and maneuverability compared to Sparrows − they’re quite fun!
Games Memento
- You’ll have a chance to earn this special customization item when banking Gold and Platinum Medallions,
- Completing Diamond Medallions guarantees a Memento.
- Mementos can be applied to crafted and enhanced weapons. Tiered weapons are not able to apply mementos at this time.
Top of Class Quest
- Step 1: Obtain a medallion – this can be done from completing Eva’s bounties, or completing a Guardian Games Playlist activity.
- Step 2: Defeat 100 Combatants with a Machine Gun. Guardian kills grant bonus progress.
Once you have the Heir Apparent Exotic Machine Gun, you have the chance to obtain a Catalyst Quest. To increase your chance at obtaining the quest, deposit as many Gold or Platinum medals as you can. Fellow Guardians have noted that the drop rate for the quest has been pretty generous so far! Once you have the quest, there are 3 objectives to complete.
Competitive Catalyst Quest
- Step 1: Earn 50 points by obtaining medals. Higher tier medals are worth more points.
- Step 2: Complete 3 Contender Cards of your choice.
- Step 3: Collect 90 Competitive Spirit by defeating combatants with Machine Guns in the Daily Focus Playlist.
- All strike playlists are compatible with this quest step.
When you have obtained the catalyst for Heir Apparent, you must then defeat 700 enemies with the Heir Apparent to complete the catalyst (Strikes or Altar of Sorrow work great). Heir Apparent will become Masterworked (gains a kill tracker and generates orbs on multi-kills) and increases the durability of the Arc Shield. In addition, when the shield is broken by a combatant, some of the magazine is partially reloaded.
Guardian Games: Event Home & Eververse
- This year Guardian Games is receiving its first event home and will match The Dawning, Festival of the Lost, and Solstice in terms of rewards.
- That means you can expect a new shader, ship, emblem, Ghost shell, and guaranteed holofoil weapons ready for you on the event rank track.
- You’ll be able to unlock the armour ornaments in the Eververse store for 6,000 Bright Dust earnable in-game, or Silver if you choose!

Event Information
Visit Eva Levante in the Tower to begin the event.
The main objective for the event is to earn medals for your respective class by partaking in various activities across the solar system. Turn in your medals at the Tower Podium to increase your class score. At the end of the event, a winner will be decided and will have bragging rights, as well as a commemorative statue in the Tower until the next Guardian Games the following year!
The Tower Podium
During Guardian Games, the Towers Guardian Games Podium will change daily to reflect the current status of the leading team. Class flags will update throughout the day to show which team is leading, and there will also be a calendar showing the winner for each day throughout the event.
Every weekend there will be a special ceremony where you will be able show off a glow from your class item depending on your class’ standing that week.
- Third place receives a bronze glow.
- Second place receives a silver glow.
- First place receives a gold glow.
- All-Stars receive a platinum glow.
There will be a special final weekend closing ceremony held in the Tower toward the end of the event.
Contributions & Outcome
- Depending on your contributions to Guardian Games All-Stars, you’ll earn glows and the bragging rights that come with them.
- These are linked to your personal and group achievements, and there are five in total:
- One for being the “best in Tower” Guardian.
- Another for being a member of the winning class of the day.
- A shoulder glow linked to your weekly performance in Rushdown.
- A second shoulder glow for your weekly performance in Supremacy and Gambit.
- And a bronze, silver, or gold glow with the shape of a laurel crown (depending on your class place) in the Friday coronation ceremony.
- At the end of the event, the class that wins the most days will be crowned winner, and their Class Item will change to gold until the next event, to remind everyone of their victory.
- Not only that, but for the whole year, members of the winning class can also trigger some fancy fireworks in the Tower if they interact with the Guardian Games All-Stars statue.
Inventory and Materials
Medallions
- Players can earn medallions from Triumphs, Contender Cards, and activity completions.
- Medallions are stored in the Medallion Case found in the Quest inventory. Turning completed Medallions into the Tower Podium will increase your team’s score.
- Medallions are what you are aiming for during this competition. Try to multi-task – get as much as you can get done!
- You will receive a Medallion Case from Eva to store your hardware until you are ready to visit the podium in the Tower to bank them for your team.
- Turning in medallions also gives you a chance at receiving an event package depending on the medallion type.
- Guardians can earn Diamond Medallions by watching Destiny Streamers on Twitch.tv that have enabled the medallion; simply watch the account for up to 2 hours.
- To redeem, from the Twitch app/web page, select Notifications, select the Diamond Medallion message and claim; ensure your Twitch.tv account is connected to your Bungie.net account.
- This can be redeemed once per week. (resets with Weekly Reset)
Contender Medals
- Players can purchase Contender or Platinum Cards from Eva Levante in the Tower Courtyard.
- Completing Platinum Cards will always reward Platinum Medallions.
- Completing Contender Cards will always reward Gold Medallions.
Class-based Competition
Rushdown PvE Activity
- Replacing the Nightfall Playlist, Rushdown is a Boss Rush-style activity featuring bosses from Destiny 2’s campaigns, seasonal story missions, and Exotic missions.
- Time-limited encounters, with additional time added per successful encounter.
- Five encounters per run, increasing in difficulty after each completion.
- Rewards based on completion time, score, and revive token usage.
- There are three modes:
- Warm-up Mode: Entry-level difficulty.
- Standard Mode: Increased difficulty with modifiers and revive tokens.
- Expert Mode: Highest difficulty, stronger enemies, revive tokens, and additional challenge modifiers.
- Score Criteria:
- Number of bosses defeated.
- Total score, based on completion speed and remaining time bonuses.
- Unused revive tokens grant extra score bonuses.
- Reward System:
- Completing at least 3 encounters guarantees a Guardian Games weapon drop.
- Higher score thresholds (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond) improve weapon perk quality.
- Expert Mode high scores offer fully Masterworked Guardian Games weapons with additional perks.
Crucible Playlist - Supremacy
- Compete in Supremacy and pick up crests from fallen opponents, or deny opponents from scoring.
- Team points earned in Supremacy will contribute towards your weekly Supremacy quest.
- For this event, Guardians of the same class will be teamed up against rival classes! (Ex: Titans vs Hunters or Warlocks)
Gambit Playlist
- Drifter is finally being included in something again!
- In the Guardian Games Gambit Playlist, there will be class-based matchmaking.

Guardian Games Rushdown Roulette
Celebrating Rushdown in Style!
- To celebrate the launch of Rushdown, a select group of Destiny 2 content creators are participating in a fun activation across the Guardian Games period – tune in and you could win a range of prizes!
- Warlock, Titan, and Hunter teams around the globe are going head-to-head in Rushdown.
- But they’ve got another challenge – before each run, each team has to spin a GIF to find out what their additional challenge modifier is for the run. Rushdown Roulette, here we go!
- Each week of Guardian Games (reset to reset), creator teams can submit their best recorded score in Rushdown to the leaderboard.
- They can play as much or as little as they like, but they only get to submit their one best score.
- The leading creator team of each class will get the opportunity to spin a prizing GIF to receive a reward and also give away one prize each to their community from the Bungie Store!
- That’s nine prizes up for grabs each week, which means 27 prizes being given away by our creators for the duration of Guardian Games.
