What is The Dawning?

The Dawning is Destiny’s Winter Event that is Free For All Players. Here’s a quick breakdown of what you need to know:

With The Dawning 2023, a new Momento is available to earn! Visit Eva to get started!
Eva Levante will provide Guardians with a light-infused oven capable of baking goods.
- Gather enough supplies to create baked goods to deliver to vendors all across the solar system to earn rewards!

DAWNING 2023 EVENT

Objective:

1 − Visit Eva Levante in the Tower to begin the Seasonal Quest. She will provide you with a light-infused oven.
- Eva will provide some ingredients to get you started (through the introductory quest steps), but you will need to go out into the world to gather more ingredients by defeating enemies and completing various activities in Destiny 2.
- Once you have your ingredients, you can start combining them to create some tasty treats like Gjallardoodles or Chocolate Ship Cookies.
- The Dawning Event Card will become available.
2 − Complete event challenges to earn rewards. Continue to unlock recipes and bake goods for various vendors across the cosmos!
3 − Purchase a variety of upgrades using Dawning Spirit, which you can get by completing Event Card Challenges, activating Boons of Friendship, and delivering baked treats.

Eva's Inventory

Upgrades: Eva offers upgrade items that will offer additional rewards or benefits during the event! All upgrade items cost 40 Dawning Spirit.

Merrymaker: Receive a Boon of Friendship each day from Eva.
Bountiful Harvest: Dawning bounties reward an additional random ingredient.
Essential Harvest: Dawning bounties reward a small amount of Dawning Essence.
Perky Presents: During the Dawning, Dawning weapons have a chance to drop with an additional perk in the left column.
Perkier Presents: During the Dawning, Dawning weapons have a chance to drop with an additional perk in the right column.
Long Winter: Increases the duration of slow effects applied by snowballs.
Longer Winter: Increases the amount of slow effects applied to all combatants damaged by snowballs.
Longest Winter: Snowballs instantly freeze combatants damaged by them.
Stay Frosty: Snowballs leave a stasis mine on impact.
Gift that Keeps on Giving: Shattering frozen combatants causes them to drop snowballs.

Bounties and Rewards!

Eva offers three different Dawning Bounties which will reward players for completing them: Weekly Bounties will reward Dawning Spirit, Essence of Dawning and Bright Dust, Daily Bounties will reward Double XP and Materials, and Additional Bounties will reward Double XP, an additional random ingredient, Dawning Spirit and Bright Dust!
Complete a variety of bounties, missions and recipes to earn loot!
Defeating enemies with Dawning weapons or abilities will create a Snowball spawn point where an enemy was defeated!

Origin Trait: Dawning Surprise

Rapidly defeating targets awards a Dawning gift. Defeated powerful targets count as more than one.

Found on any The Dawning Event weapon found during or after Season 19.

Dawning Memento

Pick up the Winter Night Quest from Eva Levante for your chance to earn the Dawning Memento reward.
Additional Mementos can be acquired from opening A Gift in Return once the first Memento is acquired.
Quest Steps and drop rate stats are still pending.

Event Card & Seal

Complete Event Challenges to earn additional rewards!
For 1000 Silver, Guardians can also purchase the Upgraded Event Card, which provides an instant reward pack and even more cosmetic rewards to unlock throughout the event!
Complete the majority of the event card triumphs to unlock a new Seal for the Dawning, which will also progress the Reveler Seal.

Cosmic Sugar Cube

The Sugar Cube is obtained as a random drop during the Dares of Eternity 6-Player Event, which is free for all players!
Once acquired, you will want to deliver this to the Starhorse in Xur’s Treasure Hoard at Eternity.
The Starhorse will reward lucky Guardians some extra loot!

Ingredients

While Eva will bring her Holiday Oven with her, players will have to go out into the world to gather Materials and Essence of Dawning by defeating enemies, completing bounties, and playing various activities in Destiny 2.
Once players have enough materials, they can combine them together to create tasty treats like Gjallardoodles and Dark Chocolate Motes.
Players can combine Materials by finding Eva’s Holiday Oven 2.0 in their Quest Tab, viewing the Oven’s “details,” and selecting the Materials they wish to combine.
Players can then give these holiday gifts to vendors across the system, depending on what baked good has been created.
