What is The Dawning? ❄️
The Dawning is Destiny’s Winter Event that is Free For All Players. Here’s a quick breakdown of what you need to know:
- Eva Levante will provide Guardians with a light-infused oven capable of baking goods.
- Gather enough supplies to create baked goods to deliver to vendors all across the solar system to earn rewards!
- With The Dawning 2025:
- A PvP Snowball Fight activity will debut!
- Two new weapons and a reprised weapon can be yours to earn.
- A brand new armor set will be available for silver or bright dust.
- As always, Eververse cosmetic items will be available for purchase.

Objective
- 1 − Visit Eva Levante in the Tower to begin the Seasonal Quest. She will provide you with a light-infused oven.
- Eva will provide some ingredients to get you started (through the introductory quest steps), but you will need to go out into the world to gather more ingredients by defeating enemies and completing various activities in Destiny 2.
- Once you have your ingredients, you can start combining them to create some tasty treats like Gjallardoodles or Telemetry Tapioca.
- 2 − How to Play:
- Earn ingredients by defeating different combatant factions and by using specific weapons, elements, and abilities.
- Earn Dawning Essence by completing various Portal activities, including the new Dawning Snowball Fight activity.
- Combine ingredients and Dawning Essence to bake cookies, which can be delivered to vendors across the system in exchange for rewards, including Dawning Spirit, and occasionally A Gift in Return, which can be opened for unique Dawning weapons and rewards.
- Redeem Dawning Spirit through Eva in order to empower your ingredient gathering capabilities, unlock new gift options, and harness the power of snowballs.
- 3 − Purchase a variety of upgrades using Dawning Spirit, which you can get by activating Boons of Friendship, and delivering baked treats.
Eva's Upgrades
- Upgrades: Eva offers upgrade items that will offer additional rewards or benefits during the event! Upgrade items range from 10-20 Dawning Spirit.
- Merrymaker: Receive three Boons of Friendship each day from Eva Levante.
- Quintessence: Activities grant bonus Dawning Essence.
- Season’s Spirit: Activities grant bonus Dawning Spirit.
- Bountiful Harvest: Earn ingredients by completing Orders and Dawning Daily Challenges.
- Essential Harvest: Earn a small amount of Dawning Essence by completing Orders and Dawning Daily Challenges.
- Long Winter: Increases the duration of slow effects applied by snowballs.
- Longer Winter: Increases the amount of slow effects applied to all combatants damaged by snowballs.
- Longest Winter: Snowballs instantly freeze combatants damaged by them.
- Stay Frosty: Snowballs leave a stasis mine on impact.
- Gift that Keeps on Giving: Shattering frozen combatants causes them to drop snowballs.

- Earn ingredients by completing Orders and Dawning Daily Challenges.
- Defeating enemies with Dawning weapons or abilities will create a Snowball spawn point where an enemy was defeated!
- Select the weapon icons below to learn more about the weapon. This will redirect you over to Light.gg or Bray.tech.

Dawning Surprise
Rapidly defeating targets awards a Dawning gift. Defeated powerful targets count as more than one.
Enhanced: Earn a Dawning gift at a much faster rate.
Found on any The Dawning Event weapon found during or after Season 19.
Dawning Memento
- In Dawning 2025, you can still have Dawning Mementos drop by opening Gifts in Return.
- Mementos are special cosmetic upgrades you can equip on enhanced weapons and crafted weapons. They cannot be applied to tiered weapons.
- The drop chance of these mementos are low, so you may need to grind a bit!

- The Sugar Cube is obtained as a random drop during the Dares of Eternity 6-Player Event, which is free for all players!
- Once acquired, you will want to deliver this to the Starhorse in Xur’s Treasure Hoard at Eternity.
- The Starhorse will reward lucky Guardians some extra loot!

Ingredients
- While Eva will bring her Holiday Oven with her, players will have to go out into the world to gather Materials by defeating enemies and earn Essence of Dawning by completing Portal activities.
- Once players have enough materials, they can combine them together to create tasty treats like Gjallardoodles and Dark Chocolate Motes.
- Players can combine Materials by finding Eva’s Holiday Oven 2.0 in their Quest Tab, (or via Portal, or Inventory tab) viewing the Oven’s “details,” and selecting the Materials they wish to combine.
- Players can then give these holiday gifts to vendors across the system, depending on what baked good has been created.

Tip: Rocket Launchers, Machine Guns and Swords work best for rapid kills.
Collect Orbs of Power.
Orbs generated by weapons, melee, or grenade final blows (if you have the appropriate mods on) can drop orbs of power. Super Final Blows only generate orbs for your teammates.
Generate Orbs of Power.
Tip: Ensure you have Orb Generating Mods equipped on your helmet and arms (weapon final blows, melee final blows & grenade final blows). For enhanced kinetic weapons, the Synergy Weapon Mod has a chance of making orbs of light. Weapons with Attrition Orbs can also generate orbs.
