What is Solstice?
Solstice, formerly ‘Solstice of Heroes,’ is Destiny’s Summer Event. Here’s a quick breakdown of what you need to know:
- Solstice 2025 (August 5-19) adds unique modifiers to Portal activities.
- During the event, you will use the Solstice Forge to create a full set of Solstice Armour with a glow effect.
- Wear at least one piece of Solstice armour to earn Solstice currency.
- Unlike previous years, Bonfire Bash and the EAZ will not be returning.

Solstice
Objective
- 1 − Visit Eva Levante in the Tower to begin the Seasonal Quest. She will provide you with a Solstice Forge.
- 2 − Earn Solstice Alloys from completing activities throughout the system.
- Forge your Solstice Alloys into Lustrous armor and its Incandescent glows at Eva’s Solstice Forge.
- Glows can be acquired for Lustrous armor after you’ve forged the associated armor type.
- 3 − Once armour is acquired from the Forge, additional pieces can be earned from playing activities in the Portal.
- 4 − Complete event challenges, located on the Overview tab of the Event Home, to acquire Event Tokens that can be used to purchase rewards from the Reward Shop tab in the Event Home.
Notes:
- The Solstice Forge will be your new hub for earning armour; complete bounties next to each Solstice armour piece which you can complete to unlock that piece of armour.
- Visit the Solstice Event in the Portal to access event progression, the reward shop, the reward track and seal!

What's New in Solstice?
The goal of the event is to use the Solstice Forge to create a full set of armor, and then to make it glow.
In lieu of a Bonfire Bash activity this year, we are adding a plethora of modifiers to Portal activities. These modifiers are inspired by Solar energy, very fitting for the Solstice theming.
Here are some of the highlights:
- Hot Potato
- Carriable Solar Flares occasionally drop from defeated combatants. Passing it between players increases the amount of damage it will do.
- Fired Up
- Dealing damage and final blows from Solar sources raises a heat meter Once full, your weapons will cause Solar explosions.
- Class Healing
- Heal yourself when using your class ability.
- Igniter
- Precision hits against scorched combatants cause ignitions.
These modifiers will rotate each day on Portal matchmaking activities but can be selected anytime with custom difficulty selection, with one exception: Hot Potato will stay on, each day, for Portal matchmaking activities.
Another addition coming with this Solstice is the new Solstice Scorched Crucible Playlist. Both teams will be able to use Scorch Cannons in Clash, Control, and Rift game modes, so revel in the chaos and don’t forget you can charge the Cannon after shooting it for some extra area damage.
As you play during the two weeks of Solstice, you’ll earn some free rewards in its dedicated event home, from a unique emblem to a Ghost shell to some Holofoil weapons. So, don’t forget completing your daily and weekly challenges so you can progress the event rank track to earn all of them.
This version of the event home has a new and improved Reward Shop where you will be able to purchase weapons directly, up to a Tier 4, depending on your Guardian Rank, as well as up to Tier 4 weapon and armor engrams. There will also be Glimmer stacks and Enhancement Cores if you need them.
Solstice Seal & Gilding
- Starting with Solstice 2022, players can now complete a Solstice Seal, “Flamekeeper.“
- To complete this seal, you’ll need to complete all event challenges offered in the Solstice Reward Track via the Portal.
- A gilding option is available by completing the four additional challenges available in the Seal screen. Keep in mind though that these challenges are quite the grind!

- Complete 7 Fireteam Ops or Pinnacle Ops activities with any Solstice modifier active.
Heat of the Crucible
- Complete 7 Solstice Scorched activities in the Crucible Ops playlist.
Around the Sun
- Complete activities with unique Solstice modifiers active.

- Achieve at least a B grade performance in any Portal activity with at least one Solstice modifier active, 3 times.

- Imbue a full set of Sublime armor with Incandescent Ingots.
Hero of the Solstice
- Reach Event Rank 30.
Sunlight ‘Em Up
- While wearing a complete set of Lustrous armor imbued with Incandescent Ingots, complete a dungeon, a raid, or Portal activities at Master or higher difficulty, or win rounds in Trials of Osiris.
A Sunny Score
- Achieve an A grade performance in any Portal activity with at least one Solstice modifier active.
Quest: Celebrating Solstice
- Complete a Solo, Fireteam, or Pinnacle Ops activity in the Portal with at least one Solstice modifier active or complete a match in the Solstice Scorched Crucible Ops playlist.
- Claim the first Event Rank reward from the Solstice Event Home.
- Acquire additional Solstice Alloy by completing activities throughout the system. Harder activities like dungeons or raids award more Alloy.
- Forge a piece of Solstice armor at the Solstice Forge.
- Claim your first Triumph from the Title tab of the Solstice Event Home.
- Celebrating Solstice
- Return to Eva Levante in the Tower to revel in the Solstice spirit.

- Equip your Solar Subclass to generate Solar orbs.
- Empowerment creates a burning wave of energy that damages anything within close proximity.
- Equip your Arc Subclass to generate Arc orbs.
- Empowerment enhances movement speed and buffs melee and sword damage.
